Flexural strength and drift ratio of reinforced concrete beams with longitudinal square hole

Abstract The main aim of this investigation was to study the flexural strength and drift ratio simply supported rectangular RC hollow beams (with a longitudinal square hole) subjected gradually increased symmetrically applied one-point load. Each beam had 300 mm2 900 mm2-area square, position center hole 80 mm from top. cross-section beam, amount steel, stirrups kept constant. deflection these were compared with that solid same outer dimensions steel reinforcements. A comparison experimental results shows specimens holes 10 x 30 achieve higher peak load, MOE, MOR. On other hands, larger ratio.
